Charles Nicoletti was a brutal hit man for the Chicago based Sam Giancana organization. It is thought he did at least twenty jobs for them.  While he was still in school, he shot his drunken father four times and killed him.  The shooting was ruled self defense has his father had a history of violence against his family and others.

James Files said that Nicoletti took him under his wing and mentored him as a young man coming up in a life of crime. Files also claimed he was the one who organized at least some of the shooters on November 22, 1963 and was one himself from the Dal-Tex building.

Apparently some people in DC gave credence to the story as he was called to testify before the House Select Committee on Assassinations. However before he could tell his story, while waiting to meet a friend in the parking lot of the Golden Horns Restaurant in Northlake IL, he was shot three times in the back of the head.
