David Ferrie *
pilot worked with Bannister and Cubans

To leave this life, to me, is a sweet prospect. When you read this I will be quite dead and no answer will be possible. All I can say is that I offered you love, and the best I could. All I got in return in the end was a kick in the teeth. Thus I die alone and unloved. As you sowed, so shall you reap.
David Ferrie had a reputation for being a highly skilled pilot who was able to do just about anything with a small plane. He was part of the initial Civil Air Patrol formed by DH Byrd with Lee Oswald in his unit. He had been a pilot with Eastern Airlines showing their confidence in his ability.
He got booted from the airline for getting too friendly with young boys as well as an unhinged rant about JFK in a speech at a veterans group. During his hearing by the airline, one of his character witnesses was Guy Bannister, who at the time was head of the Chicago FBI office.
The support from Bannister and other supporters of Cuban freedom was because Ferrie was flying missions over and into Cuba, running guns, picking up fighters., etc. Ferrie was a mad genius coming up with ideas like dropping mice over grain fields in Cuba with parachutes on fire to destroy the crops. When he wasn't flying, he was training Cubans for second invasion at a camp in the swamp by Lake Pontchartrain.
He had many connections in New Orleans so when Carlos Marcello was dropped off in Guatemala, by Robert Kennedy's Justice Department, Ferrie was the guy who flew down there to pick him up. It is believed he was standing by in Dallas should any of the assassination group need a rapid exit.
At one time he was studying to be a priest at several Jesuit universities. The CIA often had good relations with Jesuits so this is most likely where he made the initial with the organization. He also had a distinctive appearance since he had some sort of disease that no no hair would grow on his head, hence the wig and painted eye brows.
Life ended, supposedly with a cerebral hemorrhage has Jim Garrison began listening to him about the Kennedy assassination. Cuban security people would kill those leading the opposition as a warning to others. He wanted protection which Garrison tried to provide.
David Ferrie was portrayed by Joe Pesci in the JFK film.
David Ferrie: Mafia Pilot, Participant in Anti-Castro Bioweapon Plot, Friend of Lee Harvey Oswald and Key to the JFK Assassination
by Judyth Vary Baker (Author), Jesse Ventura (Foreword)
Of the all the people surrounding the assassination of President Kennedy, few are more mysterious and enigmatic than David William Ferrie of New Orleans. Author Judyth Vary Baker knew David Ferrie personally and worked with him in a covert project in New Orleans during the summer of 1963, and this book examines his strange and puzzling behavior both before and after the assassination. At the time of the assassination, Ferrie was a 45-year-old New Orleans resident who was acquainted with some of the most notorious names linked to the assassination: Lee Oswald, Clay Shaw, Guy Banister, Jack Ruby, and Carlos Marcello. He possessed assorted talents and eccentricities: he was at one time a senior pilot with Eastern Airlines until he was fired for homosexual activity on the job; he was also a hypnotist; a serious researcher of the origins of cancer; an amateur psychologist; and a victim of a strange disease, alopecia, which made all of his body void of hair. His odd lifestyle was embellished with an equally bizarre appearance featuring a red toupee and false eyebrows. This is the first book focused solely on David Ferrie and his alleged involvement in the conspiracy to assassinate President John F. Kennedy.
