Florence Smith was the wife of the Ambassador to Cuba and a good friend of Dorothy Kilgallen. She is supposed to have been give a copy of Kilgallen's material on the assassination of John Kennedy as well as the death of Marilyn Monroe. It is also quite possible that the two of them discussed some of the material that came to light during the investigation.

She died the day after Dorothy Kilgallen of a “cerebral hemorrhage” and the was no copy of Kilgallen's material found in her home.
