I’m signing off on something that I know isn’t true.

Jane Roman was one of half a dozen CIA bureaucrats who signed off the the report from the Mexico City office that told the story of Lee Oswald visiting the Cuban and Soviet embassies – and his behavior that was sure to get him noticed. She knew at the time it was a false report but she did the job that was expected of her. She later admitted she was aware of the impostor and that Oswald was nowhere near the area since the CIA had been tracking him for sometime knew his real whereabouts.  Her testimony gives credence to that of Silvia Odio who claimed to have met Olwald during this time.

On March 9, 1964 Roman provided an affidavit telling of the French security service to request the help of the CIA in removing Charles de Gaulle involving Jean Souetre.  See the FBI document concerning Roman and Souetre here.
