Johnson Circle
The apparent deceit and treachery that accompanied and facilitated Lyndon Johnson's rise to power would rival any portrayed in a Shakespearean tragedy. Many on the left who recognize the the coup that removed a president some believed to be weak, cannot bring themselves to consider the possibility that the man who benefited most from the transition of power may have been involved in the process because they admire some of the things he did while in office.
