Lamar Hunt

son of HL Hunt – owner KC Chiefs
Lamar Hunt

My definition of utter waste is a coachload of lawyers going over a cliff, with three empty seats.

Lamar Hunt was the son of HL Hunt. He was active in the formation of the American Football League which was absorbed into the National Football League. He also had interests in professional soccer and amusement parks.

Initially Hunt owned the Dallas Texans at the start of the new league, but since the NFL quickly franchised the Dallas Cowboys, he found there was not enough support for two professional teams in the city. He moved his team to Kansas City and renamed them the Chiefs.

Hunt, along with his brothers Bunker and William were involved in a scheme to corner the market for silver, which the did. They profited and found themselves in legal trouble because of it.

Lamar Hunt was reported to be in attendance at the home of Clint Murchison the night of November 21 and helped pay for the ad “welcoming” Kennedy to Dallas.
