Unfortunately for Mr White, there is a higher power than exists in DC that does not give His blessing to this sort of activity.

Operation Midnight Climax was, perhaps, a low point in the hunt for mind control probing minds to access secrets of our adversaries. This was a sub project under the umbrella of MKULTRA. Putting it into perspective, no one heard of MKULTRA until years later, very few in the federal government even knew about Sidney Gottlieb, “poisoner in chief” who was in charge of the program.

The program began in 1954 in New York City and expanded to a San Francisco safe house with George Hunter White who was a Federal Bureau of Narcotics agent and Ira “Ike” Feldman who was a former military intelligence officer.

The plan was to hire prostitutes to take their “johns” to the safe house apartments and dose them with LSD, although at times other psychotropic drugs were used. They were looking to see if the subjects would talk more freely with the combination of drugs and sex. While all this was going on, White and Feldman were watching through one way mirrors.

There was no official report that we are aware of, but the agents confirmed that the subjects were talking more freely. What they didn't say was, given the nature of the the drugs that were administered, did the information received make sense.

This effort was a problem in that the CIA is prohibited from spying on American citizens. Then there is the moral question of dosing unsuspecting subjects that distort their perception of reality and can result in flashbacks. Beyond this, it is reported that CIA spooks “grew fascinated with the kinky sex games that played out between the johns and the hookers.”  Your tax dollars at work!
