Dr Sydney Mallets was a psychiatrist at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital who, in addition to the regular duties at the hospital, helped the CIA find troubled you who could be exploited. Lee Oswald was one the the young people passed on to him from Dr Hartogs. There is no record of any actual contact with Oswald at the time, but he could have found his way on the CIA radar from Dr Mallets.

Dr Mallets was a respected member of the hospital community until the time, in later years, that he was accused of molesting a patient.
